Assemblage is a sculptural arrangement of objects or found materials.

This group of work combines aspects of my work in pottery, woodworking, and abstract painting. Taking inspiration from architectural forms and the schematics and technical drawings of my daily work as a computer hardware engineer, I construct my image from scraps of wood and found objects.

Sometimes an object placed within the work provides a jumping off point for the viewer's imagination, but I avoid creating recognizable pictures. I enjoy the challenge to inspire the viewer with abstract color and form.

These objects are created from scraps of discarded furniture, rare tropical hardwoods, driftwood, construction-grade plywood, and found objects. The reuse of these parts provides each piece with a fascinating "genealogy"—the history of each part used and their relationships to each other.
